Sam Ruthe and Owen Powell entered in International Mile at Prefontaine Classic

First up, the last few years we’ve hosted a Youth Runner Camp during the Olympic Trials and World Championships in Eugene. On Saturday we’re taking a small group in to see the big races at the Prefontaine Classic, meet with legendary Coach Pat Tyson, run Pre’s Trail, and wrap it up at Track Town Pizza. Last minute tickets to the meet are spendy, but we’ve got a few tickets that we’d like to give away. International Mile at the Prefontaine Classic

If there is a race where Alan Webb’s 3:53.43 gets dropped this could be it. Challengers include Sam Ruthe of New Zealand, the youngest to run under four minutes-3:58.35 and Owen Powell who went 3:36.49 in the 1500m at the Portland Track Festival. If Alan’s record holds it will at the least be a race to remember. Other athletes in this race:
